The California Grizzlies will challenge the Freedom Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The last six games California has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
California came out on top against Dougherty Valley on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Grizzlies had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 6-5. The win continues a trend for the Grizzlies in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won three in a row.

Tommy Casserly looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.
At the plate, Johnny Edwards and Nick Hubbard did most of the damage at the plate: Edwards went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Hubbard went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Hubbard has posted since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Freedom won against Antioch on Tuesday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Falcons put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 9-2 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Falcons sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Caleb Emmons was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other batting news, Gabe Jost was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Andrew Borrego, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Freedom was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
California's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Freedom, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 10-7.
