Basketball Recap: Pleasant Valley Triumphs

Pleasant Valley won the last time they faced Davis Sr., and AJ Gambol did her part to make sure it happened again. Everything went the Pleasant Valley Vikings' way against the Davis Sr. Blue Devils on Friday as the Pleasant Valley Vikings made off with a 60-35 victory thanks in part to Gambol, who went 9 of 20 on her way to 23 points and five steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 16.8 points per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kabrey Cooper, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 10 points and five rebounds. That's the most points she has posted since back in January.

Davis Sr.'s loss came despite strong showings from Vidya Merchant and Sonia Clayton. Merchant posted eight points, while Clayton put up five points and eight rebounds. Merchant is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games.

The win got Pleasant Valley back to even at 2-2. As for Davis Sr., they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Pleasant Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 69-28 victory against Chico on the 7th. As for Davis Sr., they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-39 win against Woodcreek on the 7th.
