It was a good run, but The Master's Academy Lions unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were the victim of a tough 42-21 loss at the hands of Thomas Jefferson. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points The Master's Academy has scored all season.
Despite the loss, The Master's Academy had strong showings from Faith Yelton, who scored seven points along with 16 rebounds and three steals, and Sydney Bell, who scored three points along with eight rebounds. Yelton is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, The Master's Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
The Master's Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Thomas Jefferson, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2.
The Master's Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Pinnacle Classical Academy at 4:30 p.m. on December 20th. Thomas Jefferson will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bessemer City at 9:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
