Baseball Recap: Crystal Springs Uplands Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Crystal Springs Uplands took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against South San Francisco, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Gryphons had just enough and edged out the Warriors 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Gryphons: when they faced off against the Warriors on Tuesday, they had to take a 11-5 loss.

Connor Uchida and Tyler Hanebrink did most of the damage at the plate: Uchida went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double, while Hanebrink went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave Hanebrink a new career-high.

Crystal Springs Uplands has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for South San Francisco, with the defeat, they broke their 13-game winning streak and moved their record to 19-5.
