Baseball Recap: Orestimba's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Orestimba). They walked away with a 19-15 victory over the Mendota Aztecs on Monday. The win was some much needed relief for the Warriors as it spelled an end to their 11-game losing streak.

Donovan Torres and Kevin Moreno did most of the damage at the plate: Torres scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances, while Moreno went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI Moreno has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Landon Marcotte, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Orestimba's victory bumped their record up to 3-15. As for Mendota, they dropped their record down to 4-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orestimba will square off against Hilmar at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hilmar's pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so Orestimba's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mendota, they will face off against Tranquillity at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Mendota is facing Tranquillity at the right time seeing as Tranquillity is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
