After having lost a blowout in their match last week, Springfield were happy to find some success on Friday. On Friday, they narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Sleepy Eye 45-42. The tight race was right in line with the MaxPreps state rankings' forecast.
The victory bumped Springfield's record up to 4-3. The defeat dropped Sleepy Eye's record to 2-5.
Next week Springfield take on New Ulm Cathedral at 3:00 PM. New Ulm Cathedral are cruising in on a three-game winning streak. As for Sleepy Eye, they will face off against Lakeview. Lakeview are limping into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
