The West Valley Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 43-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Citrus Hill. The result was an unpleasant reminder to West Valley of the 1-0 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Citrus Hill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alia Fernandez, who scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fernandez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Velena, who scored nine points.
West Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Citrus Hill, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-14.
West Valley will challenge the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Citrus Hill, they will be playing at home against the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. San Jacinto knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matches -- so hopefully the Hawks like a good challenge.
