Even though the Leyton Warriors have not done well against the South Platte Blue Knights recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Leyton secured a 76-71 W over South Platte. Leyton's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
South Platte's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Madison Cheleen, who scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Another player making a difference was Isabelle Reichman, who scored 18 points along with 6 rebounds.
Leyton's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for South Platte, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.
Leyton will be playing in front of their home fans against Potter-Dix on Tuesday. As for South Platte, they will head out on the road to face off against Wauneta-Palisade on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Wauneta-Palisade is ranked 72nd, while South Platte is ranked 61st).
