The Rock Academy Warriors and the High Tech SD Storm, after both having extra time off, will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rock Academy has given up an average of 13.4 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Rock Academy lost 22-5 to Escondido Charter last Thursday. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Quentin Uhland and Alec Endicott did some serious damage despite the final result: Uhland went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Endicott went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. Jace Daldo was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, High Tech SD didn't have quite enough to beat Olympian last Thursday and fell 2-1. The matchup marked the Storm's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
High Tech SD also got a good showing from Devon Caris, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Caris also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Storm are 3-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise.
At the plate, High Tech SD saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Neal Griswold, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Rock Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for High Tech SD, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Rock Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like High Tech SD struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Rock Academy's way against High Tech SD in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Rock Academy made off with an 8-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
