In what's become a running theme this season, the Corcoran Panthers gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past Summit Charter Collegiate Academy 63-29 at home. The win was familiar territory for Corcoran who now have four in a row.
Corcoran had a senior duo take command as Emilee Santos scored 16 points and Katalina Castillo scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaelynn Castillo, who scored 12 points.
When it comes to explaining why Summit Charter Collegiate Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jennie Gallegos. Despite the final result, she scored two points along with ten rebounds and six steals. Gallegos is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.
Corcoran's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Summit Charter Collegiate Academy, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 10-8.
Corcoran will take on Granite Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Granite Hills will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1148th, while Corcoran is ranked 560th). Summit Charter Collegiate Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hanford West at 1:00 p.m. on January 13th.
