The Milan Indians will square off against the Waldron Mohawks at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Milan's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Waldron's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Milan fell victim to Southwestern and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Rebels by a score of 1-0. That makes it the first time this season the Indians have let down their home crowd.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Waldron). They blew past Edinburgh 25-4 on Monday. The Mohawks haven't had any issues with the Lancers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Hunter Dodson made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Waldron is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-12 otherwise. Dodson was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Waldron let Jackson Kuhn and Nathan Stocklin run wild. Kuhn went 2-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs, while Stocklin got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. What's more, Stocklin posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Crouch, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Waldron kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 3.8 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.4.
Milan's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Waldron, their victory bumped their record up to 8-13.
