If Orestimba wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Merced, they should've done a better job of containing Averie Steverson. The Bears breezed past the Warriors to the tune of 55-26 on Tuesday with plenty of help from Steverson, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 60% in the last three games she's played dating back to last season.

Merced has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 57.5 points this season. As for Orestimba, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Merced didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-23 victory against Downey on the 2nd. As for Orestimba, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 64-6 win against Gustine on the 1st.
