Basketball Recap: Dae?Ani Durio Key Part of a Team Effort in Saints Win

A well-balanced attack led Adelanto over Barstow in every quarter on their way to victory on Wednesday. Everything went the Adelanto Saints' way against the Barstow Aztecs as the Adelanto Saints made off with a 67-46 win. The Saints didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.

Adelanto got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dae?Ani Durio out in front who posted 16 points and six rebounds. Durio has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Nyomi Sanchez was another key player, going 6 for 15 on her way to 16 points and eight rebounds.

Barstow's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jade Chavez, who put up 14 points. Emersyn Ebel was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Adelanto has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Barstow, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Adelanto will face off against Granite Hills at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Adelanto is facing Granite Hills at the right time seeing as Granite Hills is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Barstow, they will square off against Victor Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
