The Cypress Centurions were the 43-18 winner over the Capistrano Valley Christian Eagles when they last played one another back in November of 2015, but their luck changed this time around. Cypress was the victim of a rough 66-43 defeat at the hands of Capistrano Valley Christian on Tuesday. Cypress has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Cypress lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Isabella Caceres, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and seven assists. Another player making a difference was Lauryn Nakamura, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Cypress has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Capistrano Valley Christian, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cypress will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Tustin at 6:15 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Capistrano Valley Christian will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pacifica Christian/Orange County at 5:30 p.m. on January 13, 2024.
