Baseball Recap: Lincoln Takes a Loss

Lincoln blew Colfax out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Colfax got their revenge. The Fighting Zebras fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Fighting Zebras have suffered since April 23, 2025.

Lincoln got a good showing from Billy Bass, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Bass has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Lincoln saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Knell, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Knell has brought in this season.

Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 3-2-1. As for Colfax, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4-1.

While Lincoln had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
