The Montgomery Red Raiders were the 28-23 winner over the North Penn-Liberty Mountie when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Montgomery took a 35-21 bruising from North Penn-Liberty on Saturday.
Falin Reynolds was Montgomery's leading scorer, having posted 13 points.
Rubi Solano held things down on the boards with ten rebounds.
North Penn-Liberty was led to victory by Haley Litzelman and Tierney Patterson. Litzelman dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds, while Patterson dropped a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Litzelman has scored at least 25% of North Penn-Liberty's points.
Montgomery's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for North Penn-Liberty, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Montgomery will face off against Columbia Montour Vo-Tech at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Penn-Liberty, they will head out on the road to face off against Williamson at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
