The Rio Mesa Spartans can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They breezed by Channel Islands on the road to the tune of 101-62. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Leading Rio Mesa to victory were Yexiera Rivera and Natalie Quinto. Rivera scored 11 points, while Quinto scored 10 points along with 6 steals. Quinto is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Sophia Hill was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 3 steals.
Rio Mesa's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Channel Islands, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rio Mesa will square off against San Marcos at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Channel Islands won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Moorpark at 7:00 p.m. on November 29th.
