The Central Cabarrus Vikings put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to Carson for the full four quarters, racking up a 83-36 win at home. Central Cabarrus has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18 matches by 21 points or more this season.
Central Cabarrus got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Desmond Kent Jr. out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Kent Jr. hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Carson Daniel, who scored 14 points along with seven steals and six assists.
Central Cabarrus pushed their record up to 19-0 with that win, which was their 26th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 90.6 points per game. As for Carson, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.
Central Cabarrus will head out on the road to square off against Northwest Cabarrus at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Northwest Cabarrus' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches. As for Carson, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against West Rowan at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (West Rowan is ranked 177th, while Carson is ranked 154th).
