The Firebaugh Falcons will venture away from home to challenge the Glenn Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Firebaugh's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy by a score of 3-0.
The result came thanks to Kevin Heraldez's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Firebaugh's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is undefeated (and 2-9 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Ivan Aquino was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Adrian Ramirez also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Glenn came out on top against Calvary Chapel on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run third inning. The Eagles took their contest against the Grizzlies 11-6.
Evan Perez made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Glenn let Bert Alvarado Rodriguez and Jonah Mason run wild. Alvarado Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI, while Mason went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Julian Moreno was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Glenn was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Firebaugh's record now sits at 5-9. As for Glenn, their record is now 6-9.
Glenn's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Firebaugh hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .326. It's a different story for Glenn, though, as they've only averaged .256. Will they be able to contain Firebaugh's hitters?
Firebaugh might still be hurting after the 14-3 defeat they got from Glenn in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
