Community School of Davidson took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Lake Norman Charter, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Spartans had just enough and edged out the Knights 3-2 on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Spartans sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Community School of Davidson had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 14-25, 25-17, 25-22, 15-12.
Kelly Rogers was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 11 digs and one assist. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gracyn McRorie, who had 13 digs and one assist.
Community School of Davidson was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in seven consecutive games dating back to last season.
Community School of Davidson's record now sits at 3-0. As for Lake Norman Charter, they moved to 5-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
