Albany is 0-3 against Las Lomas since March of 2023 but things could change on Tuesday. The Cougars will look to defend their home field against the Knights at 4:00 p.m. Albany knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Las Lomas likes a good challenge.

Willem Loveless and Niko Chadha-Wong made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Loveless struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up six earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Meanwhile, Chadha-Wong pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Albany is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 3-4 otherwise. At the plate, Loveless went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Chadha-Wong went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was Chadha-Wong's first of the season.
In other batting news, Mikey Richards was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Albany: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise. Dexter Johnson was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Albany kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in eight consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Las Lomas came up short against Amador Valley on Friday and fell 5-2.
Jimmy Salinas made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Albany is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.1 runs over those games. As for Las Lomas, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
Las Lomas' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Albany hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .344. It's a different story for Las Lomas, though, as they've only averaged .235. Will they be able to contain Albany's hitters?
