The Harris County Tigers will head out to square off against the Northside Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Harris County is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Friday. Harris County came out on top against Eufaula by a score of 6-3.
Jacob Eber and Jackson Starling dominated on the mound. Eber pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits, while Starling didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Eber has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in 13 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Luke McEldoon, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Will Dimitri was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Harris County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Northside made easy work of Shaw on Tuesday and carried off a 10-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.
Noah Thomason looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
At the plate, Luke Norsworthy was excellent, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jase Shehane, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Northside has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Harris County, they pushed their record up to 19-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Harris County came out on top in a nail-biter against Northside in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 4-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
