The Sayre Sabres will stay at home for another game and welcome the Paul Robeson Huskies at 3:15 p.m. on January 19th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
After soaring to a 34-point win in their last game, Sayre came back down to earth last Thursday. They fell just short of Samuel Fels by a score of 36-34.
Brionn Veal-Coston put forth a good effort for the losing side as she dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 41.2% of Sayre's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Mischa Ferguson-Bell was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five assists and four steals.
Meanwhile, Paul Robeson suffered a rough 58-38 defeat at the hands of High School of the Future on Wednesday. Paul Robeson has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Sayre's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-2. As for Paul Robeson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season.
Sayre was taken down by Paul Robeson 72-24 in their previous matchup back in December of 2018. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Sayre was down 42-7.
