After flying high against the San Gabriel Matadors on Monday, the Santa Fe Chiefs came back down to earth. Santa Fe took a 64-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Maranatha on Wednesday. Santa Fe was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Maranatha apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2019.
Several Chiefs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Natalie Rivera, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Des Ferguson, who scored 9 points.
Santa Fe has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season. As for Maranatha, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.
Santa Fe will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against La Habra at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th. La Habra will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Maranatha, they will face off against San Gabriel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
