Hickory Grove Christian is 0-3 against High Point Christian Academy since November of 2022 but things could change  on Friday. The Lions will host the Cougars  at 7:00  p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
High Point Christian Academy will  face off against  a team with plenty of momentum: Hickory Grove Christian extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Lions took their  contest  with ease, bagging  a  41-12 win over SouthLake Christian Academy.
Hickory Grove Christian can attribute much of their success to  Chris Bryant, who rushed for 39 yards and a pair of  scores. The dominant performance also gave  Bryant a new career-high in  rushing touchdowns (two).
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hickory Grove Christian was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 312  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've managed all season.

 Hickory Grove Christian's defense stepped up as well, laying out  Cameron Gandy six times. The heavy lifting was done by  Tay Sturdivant and  Jesse Blazi, who racked up  four sacks between them. Blazi has been hot for a while, having also posted five or more  total tackles the last 17 times he's  played.
Meanwhile,  it was a proper cat-fight when High Point Christian Academy duked it out with South Wake on Friday. The Cougars really took it to the Lions for the full four quarters, racking up  a  61-6 victory. With the Cougars ahead  47-0 at the half, the  game was all but over already.
 Hickory Grove Christian better keep an eye on  Jaylen Moore. He was instrumental in High Point Christian Academy's win, rushing for 184 yards and two  TDs while picking up 11.5 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was  Hez Krider, who rushed for 78 yards and a pair of  touchdowns on only five carries.
 High Point Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Hickory Grove Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
Friday's   matchup might be decided on the ground. Hickory Grove Christian has been excellent on the ground this season,  having  averaged 164.3  rushing yards per game. However, it's not like High Point Christian Academy struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 277.5  rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's   contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
 Hickory Grove Christian took a serious blow against High Point Christian Academy  in their previous matchup  back in October of 2024, falling  41-0. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of   Moore, who rushed for 144 yards and three  scores while picking up 8.0 yards per carry.
