The Bonita Vista Barons can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They strolled past Francis Parker with points to spare, taking the game 55-39.
It was another big night for Mahliya Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Shania White was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Francis Parker lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kaia Desmond, who scored 15 points. That's the first time this season that Desmond scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Gigi Ong, who scored 14 points.
Bonita Vista's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10. As for Francis Parker, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
Bonita Vista will take on Grossmont at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Grossmont is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road. As for Francis Parker, they will take on Bishop's at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bishop's will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
