Hamilton County is 2-8 against Edwards County since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Foxes will square off against the Lions at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with six losses in a row, Hamilton County turned things around against Woodlawn on Wednesday. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Cardinals.

Caiden Rubenacker tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Colby Karcher, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Cohen White, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Hamilton County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Woodlawn struck out ten times.
Edwards County never got on the board in their matchup on Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Hamilton County on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Foxes with a sharp 14-0 win. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by nine runs or more this season.
Jackson Hensley was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs and two doubles.
In other batting news, Jax Duncan and Cash Conner did most of the damage at the plate: Duncan went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Conner got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Edwards County is undefeated when Duncan posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Dylan Prather also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Hamilton County's record now sits at 5-9-1. As for Edwards County, their record is now 9-5.
Hamilton County might still be hurting after the 14-0 defeat they got from Edwards County in their previous matchup on Tuesday. Can the Foxes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
