The Livermore Cowboys's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their tenth straight loss. They fell to Arroyo 39-35. Livermore was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Arroyo apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2019.
Despite the loss, Livermore still got an impressive performance from Angie Bhatia, who scored 13 points. That was a full 37.1% of Livermore's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Arroyo found their leader in underclassman Laila Bravo, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bravo has scored all season.
Livermore has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-20 record this season. As for Arroyo, their win bumped their record up to 4-14.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Livermore will take on California at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. California presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Livermore in California (California is ranked 37th, while Livermore is ranked 1056th). As for Arroyo, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Berkeley at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Berkeley is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
