The Fullerton Indians will face off against the Cherry Creek Bruins at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Fullerton's tournament run continued when they took on Owyhee on Friday. The Indians put the hurt on the Storm with a sharp 12-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Gavin Talavera looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Ronnie Martinez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mason Park, who went 2-for-4 with two triples and three runs.
Fullerton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Owyhee only managed four.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cherry Creek). They blew past North Kitsap 11-4 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bruins.
Martin Duff looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Cherry Creek let Tyce Smith and Cooper Campbell run wild. Smith got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Campbell went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Smith has hit this season. Ari Rothman was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one triple.
Cherry Creek now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Fullerton, their record now sits at 9-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Fullerton has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Cherry Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
