On Wednesday, Beaumont United was able to grind out a solid victory over Horn, taking the game 64-54. Given Beaumont United's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while Horn is ranked 117th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Kayde Dotson, who scored 27 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The matchup was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Clarence Payia, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Beaumont United and bumps their season record up to 15-1. As for Horn, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.
