Palmer has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Nebraska Christian Eagles on Friday.
While it was all tied up 19-19 at halftime, Palmer was not quite Heartland Lutheran's equal in the second half on Friday. They received a tough blow as they fell 46-29 to the Red Hornets.
Meanwhile, Nebraska Christian can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Monday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 61-20 victory over Elba. Given Nebraska Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while Elba is ranked 280th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Palmer's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Nebraska Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.
Palmer took a serious blow against Nebraska Christian in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 60-26. Can Palmer avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
