The Legend Titans are taking a road trip to face off against the Broomfield Eagles at 9:30 a.m. on Friday. Legend is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Legend is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over Cherry Creek. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Titans.
Jacob Fladebo was excellent, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Carson Reffel, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Broomfield was able to grind out a solid win over Grandview on Saturday, taking the game 9-6. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly three runs.
James Varela looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on JR Ramsey, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Jackson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Legend's record is now 14-11. As for Broomfield, their record now sits at 22-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Legend hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Broomfield struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Legend's way against Broomfield in their previous matchup back in April of 2022, as Legend made off with an 11-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
