Williams Posts Huge Game in 70-29 Victory
Starting off the list is Anna's Ziondre Williams, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Williams threw for 287 yards and six touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushed for 52 yards.
For the season, Williams has thrown 17 touchdowns while averaging 259.2 passing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after five games last season, he had 11 passing touchdowns.

Cameron Newton Turns in Season-Best Performance
On Friday, Walnut Grove got the W thanks in part to Cameron Newton playing the best football he has all season. Newton wasn't messing around, rushing for 190 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, while also picking up 31 receiving yards and a touchdown. The match was his fifth straight with two or more rushing touchdowns dating back to last season.
The win for Walnut Grove keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Newton and Walnut Grove will be playing in front of their home fans against Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Hayes Hackney Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Walnut Grove was led to victory by Hayes Hackney, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Hackney threw for 389 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 14.4 yards per attempt. Thanks to that strong showing, he's now averaging 3.4 passing touchdowns per game.

Independence dropped their record down to 2-4 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Murindagomo and Independence will be playing at home against Lovejoy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Jacob Janecek Rounds Out Top Five
Rounding off our Top Five is Jacob Janecek of Lovejoy. Janecek threw for 234 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played dating back to last season.
The win (which was Lovejoy's third in a row) raised their record to 3-2. Janecek will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant performance when he faces off against Independence on Friday.
