Austin is 0-5 against Paoli since May of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rams at 5:00 p.m. Austin is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Austin turned things around against Switzerland County on Friday. They blew past the Pacers 18-5. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Emma Ousley was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (three). She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Julia Harris, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Danielle Nay, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Austin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .683. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
