Hurricane faced South Charleston in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Redskins came out on top against the Black Eagles by a score of 3-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Redskins also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

The win didn't come easy: South Charleston scored at least 22 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 20-25, 25-22, 26-24.

Kiley Jones paced Hurricane's offense, picking up 18 kills. Jones got some help from Adalee Mccomas and her 45 assists. Sloane Mcclellan controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

When it comes to explaining why South Charleston lost, don't look at Callie Stevens-Siggers. Despite the final result, she had 19 digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Anderson, who had 13 digs.

Hurricane has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That lines up perfectly with their 4-1-1 record this season. As for South Charleston, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hurricane will host Parkersburg at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Charleston, they will be playing at home against Wayne at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
