After flying high against Sacred Heart two weeks ago, Covenant came back down to earth. The Knights took a 34-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Covenant Christian Cougars on Friday. Covenant Christian had a senior duo take command as Aaron Turner picked up 157 receiving yards and three touchdowns and Peyton Jankowski threw for 286 yards and four TDs while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt. Turner really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 74 yards.
Covenant now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Covenant Christian, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4.
Covenant and Covenant Christian will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Knights will take on rival All Saints Episcopal at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Covenant Christian is set to face off against their familiar foe Trinity Christian at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
