For the second straight game, Paramount will face off against Norwalk. The Pirates will take on the Lancers at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Paramount has six straight wins, Norwalk has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Paramount made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Norwalk, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Pirates never let the Lancers get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Pirates have won six games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Brandon Martinez made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. He has become a key player for Paramount: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-6 otherwise.
In other batting news, Nicholas Medina was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. Luis Banuelos was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.
Paramount was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in six consecutive matchups.
Paramount's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Norwalk, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Paramount has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Norwalk struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
