Baseball Recap: Dakota's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Two

Dakota won the last time they faced Orangeville and things went their way on Thursday too. The Indians never let the Broncos get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. Considering the Indians have won four contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Liam Burke was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brodie Goode, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Dakota always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Orangeville only posted an OBP of .200.

The win made it two in a row for Dakota and bumps their season record up to 5-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Orangeville, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dakota will head out to challenge Lena-Winslow at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Orangeville, they will venture away from home to face off against Ashton-Franklin Center at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.78 runs per game on average), something the Broncos will no doubt try to take advantage of.
