Scholars Guild Academy waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Johnson Ferry Christian Academy Saints with a sharp 16-1 victory. Considering the Spartans have won six contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Henry Rumble was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Scholars Guild Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-7 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Scholars Guild Academy let Jacob Chupp and Will Pittman run wild. Chupp went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs, while Pittman scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Chupp has become a key player for Scholars Guild Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Strange, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI.

Scholars Guild Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .536. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Scholars Guild Academy's record now sits at 11-7. As for Johnson Ferry Christian Academy, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-9.

Coming up, Scholars Guild Academy will welcome Trinity Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Scholars Guild Academy is facing Trinity Prep at the right time seeing as Trinity Prep is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Johnson Ferry Christian Academy, they are taking a road trip to challenge Harvester Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
