Burwell had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Elgin/Pope John Wolfpack 47-12. With the Longhorns ahead 33-6 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Although Elgin/Pope John took the loss, they still got scores from Karson Kallhoff and Grady Drueke.

Coming up, Burwell will challenge St. Mary's at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Elgin/Pope John, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Walthill at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
