The Deer Valley Wolverines's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They lost to Freedom on the road by a decisive 55-40 margin. If Deer Valley hoped to take revenge for the 59-47 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Freedom to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ariel De La O, who scored 13 points along with five steals. De La O is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Anisa Blalock was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds.
Deer Valley dropped their record down to 1-9 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Freedom, their win bumped their record up to 8-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Deer Valley will take on Pittsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pittsburg is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Freedom, they will head out on the road to square off against Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Liberty is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
