Baseball Recap: Foothill Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

Foothill waltzed into their contest on Thursday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Western Sierra Collegiate Academy Wolves. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by seven runs or more this season.

Julian Tripp made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Foothill is undefeated when Tripp posts ten or more strikeouts, but 11-13 otherwise. Tripp was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Jaylin Blackwell was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Richard Paiz was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Foothill now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Western Sierra Collegiate Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.

As of now, neither Foothill nor the Wolves have any future games scheduled.
