Gray's Creek is a perfect 10-0 against Seventy-First since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Gray's Creek's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home while Seventy-First has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Gray's Creek will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Cape Fear, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Bears came out on top against the Colts by a score of 6-1 on Friday.
Davis Reed was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Grayson Hulen was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Tyler Jasinski was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Gray's Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 17 runs the game before, Seventy-First was a bit more limited in their match on Monday. They lost 11-1 to Purnell Swett.
Seventy-First saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chris Melendez, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. The Falcons are 4-1 when Melendez posts two or more stolen bases, but 0-16 otherwise.
Gray's Creek has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Seventy-First, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-17.
Seventy-First's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Gray's Creek hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .326. It's a different story for Seventy-First, though, as they've only averaged .237. Will they be able to contain Gray's Creek's hitters?
