Pleasant Grove is 1-9 against the Wolfpack since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Pleasant Grove Eagles will be playing at home against the Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack at 6:30 p.m. That match will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Kate Myers and Isabel Tan.
After a string of three wins, Pleasant Grove's good fortune finally ran out last Friday. They were dealt a 66-32 loss at the hands of Franklin. Pleasant Grove was down 50-28 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Meanwhile, Cosumnes Oaks didn't have too much trouble with the Timberwolves at home on Friday as they won 65-50. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Cosumnes Oaks.
Cosumnes Oaks found their leader in underclassman Caitlin Subejano, who went 7 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 39 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Subejano has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nya Barron, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Pleasant Grove's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-12. As for Cosumnes Oaks, their victory bumped their record up to 16-10.
Pleasant Grove came up short against the Wolfpack when the teams last played back in January, falling 56-43. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Tan, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine steals.
