Enterprise had lost six straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 8-20 to make it seven. They lost 18-2 to the Red Bluff Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, with their most recent defeat being a 6-0 loss on Tuesday.
Enterprise saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick McKellar, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
As for Red Bluff, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-9 record this season. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Red Bluff's side, Ryan Ross and Cooper Sides were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Ross tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Sides struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Ross has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Ross went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Sides went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three hits gave Sides a new career-high.
In other batting news, Red Bluff got a massive performance out of Mason Lyford, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Lyford has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Owens, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Enterprise does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Red Bluff, they will face off against Eureka at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. The Loggers will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight.
