Meanwhile, St. Anthony was able to grind out a solid win over St. Monica on Thursday, taking the game 9-4.
Benny Lane made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI. Those two triples gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Nick Galluccio was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-5. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
