Willow Glen is 9-1 against Lincoln since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Willow Glen Rams will play host again and welcome the Lincoln Lions, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Willow Glen put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They blew past Piedmont Hills 56-35. Given Willow Glen's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 395th, while Piedmont Hills is ranked 926th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Natalia Valerio was her usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucia Diaz, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Lincoln came tearing into Thursday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 40-29 victory over Leigh.
Willow Glen's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Lincoln, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Willow Glen didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Lincoln in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 37-32 win. Will Willow Glen repeat their success, or does Lincoln have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
