Video: Top 15 Games of the Week
Ten ranked teams are featured in this week's slate.
The numbers and domination are staggering.
Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas), ranked No. 16 nationally by MaxPreps this week, has owned the state of Nevada, winning 10 straight state titles and 115 straight games against in-state opponents.
The last loss to a Nevada squad was almost 11 years to the day, Nov. 21, 2008 against Palo Verde.
But on Friday, the streaks came to end with a 30-24 defeat in the Desert Region championship at
Liberty (Henderson), a team that started season 0-5. The game went to overtime and
Zyrus Fiaseu rushed for a score to finish it, setting off a wild celebration.
Liberty will meet the winner of Monday's game between Bishop Manogue and Damonte Ranch in the Class 4A state semifinals Nov. 30.
The Gaels (11-2) had a 17-3 lead at halftime before Liberty, winners of eight straight, fought back to eventually force overtime.
After Liberty held on downs, Fiaseu ran in for the game-winner ending a remarkable run for Gorman, which won the 2015 MaxPreps national championship.
