Baseball Recap: Kennedy Has No Trouble Against Mission San Jose

Kennedy won the last time they faced Mission San Jose and things went their way on Thursday too. The Titans blew past the Warriors 13-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Titans.

Michael Pickett made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Pickett was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Nick Owsley was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Kennedy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-9 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Ocean Chiu, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Kennedy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Kennedy's record now sits at 8-9. As for Mission San Jose, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

Kennedy and Mission San Jose will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Titans see the field they'll take on American at 4:00 p.m. on the 30th. As for Mission San Jose, their break will end when they face Moreau Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on the 30th.
