Jersey Shore is 2-8 against the Braves since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Jersey Shore Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Shikellamy Braves at 1:30 p.m. Jersey Shore will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
Last Wednesday, Jersey Shore beat the Wildcats 50-37. Given Jersey Shore's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 356th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jersey Shore to victory, but perhaps none more so than Peyton Dincher, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Dincher hasn't dropped below 16 points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Jocelyn McCracken, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Shikellamy was able to grind out a solid win over the Ironmen on Wednesday, taking the game 36-24. The win made it back-to-back wins for Shikellamy.
Jersey Shore is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Shikellamy, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6.
Jersey Shore was able to grind out a solid victory over the Braves when the teams last played back in January, winning 49-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jersey Shore since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
